What exactly is a keepsake? According to the Oxford Dictionary a keepsake is a “token of remembrance, something to remember someone by”. It is any item that offers a personal or emotional connection to a loved one. Keepsakes can make us feel connected to each other and to past memories and events.

Most parents keep mementoes of their children, for example baby’s first tooth or a lock of hair. Non parents might not understand the feeling and thoughts behind doing this, but in reality, keepsakes are kept to keep that exact moment alive. Parents don’t want to forget memories of their children being babies, so keeping items that remind them of a time they were small is a soothing thing to do.

Nowadays, with the advances in technology, parents are using their smart phones to take thousands of pictures of their children, but eventually storage runs out and then you have to make that all too painful decision of which ones to delete!

Then there are baby books, thousands are purchased each year but who actually has the time or effort to fill them out and print out pictures to stick in them when all their time is spent looking after their little one.

And isn’t it the same thing with the books, having the same captions and spaces for pictures, and once you’ve written something then it’s final. Not to mention if you make a mistake and then run the risk of scribbling something out and having the memory of the mess for the rest of your life.

Wouldn’t it be so much easier if someone had created an app that did all of this for you?

Well we have!

Please welcome Baby Biography, a mobile app where you can store all of your photos and memories and then before you can say peek-a-boo it can be converted into a book and delivered directly to your home

Now to go into a little bit more detail.

The app includes many different sections. The home page directs you to 4 main tabs entitled: trying for a baby, pregnancy, the birth and early years. In each tab there are even more options. For example, in the pregnancy section we have tabs where you can enter information about mummy, daddy, a family tree, thoughts and feelings, the baby shower as well as scan photos!

In the birth tab of the app you have sections which allow you to enter not only the time and the weight but who was in the room with you, hair colour and eye colour of your baby.

The early year’s section lets you include baby’s first smile, first steps, first tooth as well as yearly events, for example first Christmas, Easter and even baby’s first snowfall.

This app really does go into so much detail and is the modern way to store your memories from the simplicity of your phone with not a Pritt Stick in sight!
